Heritage & Culture.
The Presqu'ile lighthouse, built in 1840, sits at the southern tip of the peninsula — among the oldest surviving lighthouses on Lake Ontario. Friends of Presqu'ile Park run the Lighthouse Interpretive Centre alongside it, and the Lighthouse Loop carries walkers past the structure and the surrounding panne and dune boardwalks.
The brief.
The lighthouse and the Lighthouse Interpretive Centre are open seasonally on the Ontario Parks summer-programming calendar (typically late May through Labour Day). The Proctor House Museum (1853) sits in town a short distance off Main Street and represents the small in-town Victorian heritage cluster; opening hours follow Brighton's local museum schedule.
Brighton's heritage Main Street fills with the Applefest crowd on the last full weekend of September — the dominant heritage-and-festival weekend in town.
