Hiking.
The Marsh Boardwalk threads 1.2 km of accessible boardwalk through cattail and emergent marsh on Presqu'ile's interior, and the Owen Point Trail runs 1.6 km return out the sand spit to the southern tip of the peninsula. Together they form the spine of Presqu'ile's day-hiking — flat, short, and built for pairing with the lighthouse, the beaches, and the bird viewing rather than for long-distance walking.
The brief.
All four trails inside Presqu'ile are short. The Marsh Boardwalk is accessible and runs through the marsh interior.
The Owen Point Trail is sand and packed earth out to the shorebird viewing area. Newcastle Trail and Jobes' Woods Trail are forest loops through cedar and mixed-hardwood understorey, and the Pioneer Trail runs through cedar woodland.
None of them require route-finding; all are signed Ontario Parks trails. Best season is May through October for trail conditions; the boardwalk and main park road stay walkable in winter.
Daily vehicle permits apply.
