Heritage & Culture.
The Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts opened on the Parry Sound waterfront in 2003 and houses the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame — dedicated to Parry Sound–born NHL defenceman Bobby Orr.
The Festival of the Sound concert series runs at the Stockey Centre through the summer, and the Canadian Pacific Railway trestle bridge across the Seguin River is the in-town landmark, with the Trestle Walk pedestrian path passing directly beneath it.
The brief.
Parry Sound's in-Town heritage offer is concentrated on the waterfront and the Seguin River crossing. The Charles W.
Stockey Centre opened in 2003 on the harbour and is the regional performing-arts anchor; the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame inside the Stockey Centre is the Town's marquee museum, dedicated to Parry Sound–born Bobby Orr. The Festival of the Sound runs at the Stockey Centre through the summer (the festival is the Town's largest cultural event).
The CPR trestle bridge across the Seguin River is the most-photographed downtown landmark — the Trestle Walk pedestrian path passes beneath it. Parry Sound is also a stop on VIA Rail's transcontinental Canadian service (Toronto to Vancouver).
Heritage programming runs year-round at the Stockey Centre with peak activity in summer.
