Walking & Strolling.

The Georgian Trail's eastern terminus is at Meaford Harbour — the end of a 32 km flat crushed-stone rail trail running west to Collingwood through Thornbury and Craigleith on the former CN corridor. From the harbour breakwater and Memorial Park, the township's Georgian Bay frontage carries an easy waterfront walk that connects into the trail end at the foot of town.

Walking & Strolling in Meaford
01 — What to know

The brief.

Meaford's central walking is concentrated on the harbour and the rail-trail end inside town. The Georgian Trail surface is crushed stone and largely flat, suitable for casual walking; it is open year-round but most accessible May through October, with shoulder-season access continuing through November.

Memorial Park sits on the harbour beside the breakwater and small-craft basin. The Georgian Bay shoreline east of Meaford falls inside the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre and is closed to public access; westbound walking along the bay is the practical direction out of town.
