Food & Drink.

Meaford anchors the western end of the south Georgian Bay Apple Pie Trail — a touring route through Collingwood, The Blue Mountains (Thornbury, Clarksburg), and Meaford organized around apple orchards, ciders, bakeries, and farm gates. Meaford's orchard country sits inland from town on the moraine plateau above the Georgian Bay shoreline, with farm-gate stops and seasonal u-pick concentrated through the harvest window.

01 — What to know

The brief.

The Apple Pie Trail is a multi-municipality south Georgian Bay culinary route; Meaford is the western anchor and the most apple-orchard-dense end of the corridor. Late August through October carries the harvest, u-pick, and cider-pressing window — the practical destination season.

Outside that window, year-round farm-gate and cider product is available but more spread out. The trail combines orchard farm gates with bakeries, ciders, and prepared-food product across Collingwood, Thornbury, Clarksburg, and Meaford.

Plan stops by hours posted on each operator's site — small farm gates do not always run consistent shoulder-season hours.
