Camping.
Arrowhead Provincial Park's 378-site campground sits ten minutes north of downtown Huntsville and operates year-round, including winter camping. East along Highway 60, Algonquin Provincial Park's frontcountry campgrounds and interior canoe-access backcountry stretch into the Park's western half — Huntsville is the western gateway, and the Park itself lies outside the Town's municipal boundary.
The brief.
Arrowhead's 378 sites split across 175 electrical, 7 RV pull-through, and 112 radio-free; all are vehicle-accessible (no walk-in backcountry inside Arrowhead). The park's four comfort stations include showers, and a visitor centre and two park stores cover groceries and rentals.
Winter camping is supported. East of Huntsville on Highway 60, Algonquin Provincial Park's frontcountry campgrounds run on the standard Ontario Parks operating season, and the interior backcountry is accessed through 29 documented Park access points (Canoe Lake at km 14.1 and Opeongo north of km 46.3 are the marquee Highway 60 launches).
Algonquin interior trips require advance reservations through the Ontario Parks system, a Park permit, and adherence to the Park's interior rules — most visibly, no bottles or canned beverages are permitted in the interior.
