Wasaga Beach.
Wasaga Beach Provincial Park stewards the world's longest freshwater beach — roughly 14 km of continuous Georgian Bay sand at the mouth of the Nottawasaga River, divided by the Town into six numbered Beach Areas (Beach Area 1 the historical commercial main strip with the boardwalk; Beach Areas 5 and 6 the quieter River Mouth and Allenwood end). The park is day-use only, and the same boundary that holds the strand also holds the Nancy Island Historic Site — the burnt hull of HMS Nancy, sunk in the lower Nottawasaga in August 1814 — and the Wasaga Nordic & Trails Centre at Blueberry Plains, where Ontario Parks grooms more than 30 km of classic and skate cross-country ski trails inside a broader 50+ km ski/snowshoe network.
The Town runs a paved trail network (Blueberry, Shore Lane, Sunnidale, Nottawasaga Trails) that connects east to the Tiny Trail and west toward Collingwood and the Georgian Trail. Roughly 90 minutes from the GTA via Highway 400, 40 from Barrie, and 25 from Collingwood.

Walking & Strolling
The 14 km strand itself is the walk — flat, hard-packed sand running the full length of the park's beach areas with bay-wide views from Beach Area 1 west to the River Mouth at Beach Area 6. Inland, the Town's paved/stone-dust network — the Blueberry, Shore Lane, Sunnidale, and Nottawasaga Trails — covers town-side walking off the sand, and the Nancy Island Historic Site grounds carry a short interpretive loop on a small island in the lower Nottawasaga River.

The Town's paved/stone-dust trail network — the Blueberry, Shore Lane, Sunnidale, and Nottawasaga Trails — connects east into Tiny Township via the Tiny Trail and west toward Collingwood, where riders can stitch onto the 32 km Georgian Trail to Meaford. Inside the park, more than 14 km of multi-use trail open to cyclists in summer, and the Trans Canada Trail passes through the town as part of the cross-Ontario route.

The whole point of Wasaga Beach is the world's longest freshwater beach — approximately 14 km of Georgian Bay sand stewarded by Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and divided by the Town into six numbered Beach Areas. Beach Area 1 carries the historical commercial main strip and the new Boardwalk District; Beach Areas 2 and 3 are the central family settings; Beach Areas 5 and 6 sit at the River Mouth and Allenwood as the quietest, most natural end of the strand. Day-use only — no overnight camping inside park boundaries — alcohol prohibited on the beach, and dunes are protected (stay on designated paths and boardwalks).

The Wasaga Nordic & Trails Centre at Blueberry Plains, inside Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, grooms more than 30 km of classic and skate-ski trails as part of a broader 50+ km ski/snowshoe network. Lake-effect snow off Georgian Bay sustains the season into March, with Ontario Parks running grooming and chalet access at the centre.

Nancy Island Historic Site sits on a small island in the lower Nottawasaga River inside the provincial park, holding the burnt hull of HMS Nancy — a British schooner sunk by an American squadron in August 1814 during the War of 1812 — alongside a museum, theatre, and replica blockhouse. Ontario Parks operates the site within the broader Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, and the Friends of Nancy Island cooperating association supports interpretive programming through the summer season.
