Cross-Country & Nordic.

The Kolapore Uplands Wilderness Trails are described in regional sources as among the few back-country Nordic networks in Southern Ontario — roughly 50 kilometres of ungroomed wilderness ski managed by the volunteer Kolapore Wilderness Trails Association in The Blue Mountains, about 20 kilometres southwest of Collingwood. Lake-effect snow off Georgian Bay sustains the season into March in normal years.

01 — What to know

The brief.

Kolapore is ungroomed and blazed with orange triangle markers; the trail network is complex and a map from the association is strongly recommended. The trails are most suited to intermediate and advanced classic skiers — the County Forest section is the gentler entry point for novices.

There is no fee for use; the association runs on memberships, donations, and volunteer maintenance. The trails are not suitable for snowshoeing in winter.

Highlands Nordic, the closest groomed Nordic centre, sits over the line in Clearview Township and is not in The Blue Mountains.
