Swimming & Beach.
Three designated swim beaches sit on the Long Sault Parkway across Lake St. Lawrence: Mille Roches Beach near the Long Sault end, McLaren Beach mid-chain, and Woodlands Beach beside Woodlands Campground at the Ingleside end.
All three are St. Lawrence Parks Commission day-use beaches on the sheltered Seaway pool — the parkway islands break the wind and give the swim shoreline a calmer character than open St.
Lawrence frontage.
The brief.
Mille Roches and McLaren are day-use beaches with parking and picnic infrastructure, and Woodlands Beach pairs directly with Woodlands Campground. All three sit on Lake St.
Lawrence, the Seaway pool created by the 1958 inundation; depths drop off steadily off the swim shoreline. A valid St.
Lawrence Parks Commission vehicle pass is required to drive the parkway and access the day-use beaches during the published season. Best swim window is roughly mid-June through early September; late spring and early fall water is cold even when shoreline air is warm.
