Cycling.
The Long Sault Parkway is the cycling anchor — 11 islands threaded by paved parkway with shoreline views across Lake St. Lawrence, designated as part of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
The parkway connects to the wider Waterfront Trail corridor through Long Sault and Ingleside and out to Cornwall, so day-rides can run end-to-end on a continuous route or loop the parkway as an out-and-back.
The brief.
Cycling shares the parkway road surface with seasonal vehicle traffic; the surface is paved and the gradients are flat. The parkway is a designated Waterfront Trail segment, so the on-road context is signed.
Out-and-back from either end of the parkway (Long Sault or Ingleside) gives roughly the full 11-island chain in one ride; combining with the Waterfront Trail corridor through the villages adds a connector to Cornwall to the east or to the Morrisburg / Ingleside boundary to the west. A valid SLPC vehicle pass is not required for cyclists using the parkway as a Waterfront Trail user, but check the SLPC posted information before travelling — pass policy can be adjusted seasonally.
