Walking & Strolling.
Sauble Beach is the region's flagship walking corridor — roughly 11 km of flat sand-shore on the Lake Huron coast, walkable for hours on a single sunset evening. On the Colpoy's Bay side, Bluewater Park on the Wiarton waterfront wraps the harbour with a small-town boardwalk, the Wiarton Willie statue, and a flat shoreline loop, giving the township two distinct walking corridors separated by the spine of the southern Bruce Peninsula.
The brief.
Most central walking is flat — Sauble Beach is sand, Bluewater Park is paved boardwalk and grass shoreline. Sauble Beach is comfortable late May through October, with the main parking and amenities at the town's beach-access nodes off Lakeshore Boulevard; piping plover dune protection zones are fenced May through August and walkers should stay on the marked sand-shore path during the breeding season.
Bluewater Park is a few hours from the GTA via the major highway corridor through Owen Sound; the park is open year-round, hosts the annual February 2 Wiarton Willie ceremony, and serves as the town's harbour anchor on Colpoy's Bay.
