The Tay Shore Trail runs 18.5 km of paved multi-use surface east through Tay Township from the Midland–Tay boundary to Waubaushene, on the Trans Canada Trail and the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. The regional ride from Penetanguishene picks up the corridor through Midland a short distance east along the south Georgian Bay shoreline.

01 — What to know

The brief.

The Tay Shore Trail is paved and almost entirely flat, suitable for road, hybrid, and e-bike — the easiest cycling product in the Penetanguishene area. Inside Penetanguishene the road and waterfront network supports local cycling along the harbourfront and the Discovery Harbour approach.

Best season is May through October; the corridor stays accessible into shoulder season at the downtown end. The Tay Shore Trail is part of the Trans Canada Trail and Great Lakes Waterfront Trail networks, anchoring south Georgian Bay's paved long-distance cycling product.
