Walking & Strolling.
Mill Street and Metcalfe Street in Elora step down to the Grand-Irvine confluence at the gorge edge, and St. Andrew Street in Fergus runs along the Grand River above the Fergus dam.
Both downtowns are walkable in a short visit. Templin Gardens descends from the Fergus river bank, and Victoria Park sits on the Elora gorge rim above the Tooth of Time.
The brief.
The Elora and Fergus downtowns are flat or gently sloped 19th-century limestone heritage cores with cafés, shops, and small civic buildings. Both are walkable year-round, with comfort peaking May through October.
Templin Gardens is on the Fergus bank above the Grand River dam — a short heritage-garden walk with river views. Victoria Park is on the Elora gorge rim opposite Mill Street, with the gorge corner as the Elora photo-anchor.
The two downtowns are linked by Wellington Road 18, the same corridor that carries the Wellington County Museum.
