01 — What to know

The brief.

Port Stanley is the deeper-water Lake Erie boating anchor between the Western Basin (Leamington/Pelee) and the eastern bays (Long Point, Port Dover). The harbour at the Kettle Creek mouth is sheltered; the open Eastern Basin run east toward Long Point or west toward the Lake St.

Clair entrance is exposed water best taken on settled days. Lake Erie weather can shift quickly, and small-craft routings should track the marine forecast.

Sailing season runs May through October.
