Mountain Biking.
Albion Hills Conservation Park is one of the GTA's primary cross-country mountain-bike destinations — TRCA-managed singletrack and double-track on the Oak Ridges Moraine north of Bolton. The trail network shares right-of-way with hikers and (in winter) cross-country skiers; marked routes run for varying ability levels across the ~50-kilometre system.
The brief.
Albion Hills' singletrack is the closest serious cross-country MTB to downtown Toronto, drawing weekend riders from across the GTA. The terrain is rolling moraine — moderate climbs, mostly hardpack with some rooty and rocky sections — rather than the technical descent network of the Niagara Escarpment crags.
TRCA runs an entry-fee model with day passes and seasonal memberships; e-bikes are not permitted on the singletrack. The shared trail-use rules mean yielding to hikers, especially through autumn when the trail network sees heavy hiking traffic, and seasonal designations may change to give skiers priority through winter.
Best season May through October; the same trails freeze and groom for cross-country skiing through winter rather than serving fat-bike riders.
