Cycling.
The Cypher Systems Group Greenway runs 23.9 kilometres along a former CN Rail spur — donated 1997, managed by ERCA — from Sadler's Park in Essex toward Amherstburg. It anchors the western end of an Essex County rail-trail network that ties into the Town of Amherstburg trail network through municipal parks and connecting paths.
Flat terrain, granular and paved surfaces, multi-use.
The brief.
The Cypher Systems Group Greenway is sometimes listed as the "Essex–Amherstburg Greenway" on third-party trail listings — same trail. Best riding window is April through October; Lake Erie and the Detroit River moderate the local climate, so winters are comparatively mild but unreliable for snow cover.
Town of Amherstburg connecting paths run through municipal parks (King's Navy Yard among them) and into the Greenway corridor. The terrain is flat across Essex County — this is rail-trail and connecting-road riding, not climbing country.
