Mountain Biking.
Eldred King Woodlands on Highway 48 north of Stouffville is the principal cross-country mountain bike tract in the York Regional Forest network — the closest substantial volunteer-built XC singletrack to Toronto's northern boundary. The trail network runs through mature moraine forest, maintained by volunteer trail-builders under York Region permission as part of the Region's regional forest recreation framework.
The brief.
Eldred King is a cross-country flow tract — singletrack with rolling moraine elevation, no lift-served downhill, no bike-park infrastructure. The trail network is mapped by local volunteer groups and ride-able from late spring through fall when trails dry out.
York Region asks riders to stay off when trails are wet (sand and till on the moraine compacts and erodes quickly when saturated) and to follow IMBA-style trail etiquette: yield to hikers, ride within ability, no trail-cutting. There are no rentals at the tract; the closest bike shops sit in Stouffville, Markham, and Aurora.
Parking is on-site.
