Camping.
Chippawa Creek Conservation Area in Wellandport is the largest campground inside West Lincoln — 156 campsites along the Welland River with the 10-hectare Dils Lake reservoir as the centrepiece. The grounds combine a swimming beach, accessible fishing piers, a small boat launch onto the Welland River, and a 1.1-kilometre wheelchair-accessible boardwalk loop around Dils Lake; canoes and kayaks are rentable at the gatehouse for non-motorized paddling on the lake.
The brief.
The campground season runs from the Friday of the Victoria Day long weekend through Thanksgiving Monday — there is no winter or off-season camping, and no fishing during the off season. Quiet hours begin at 11 PM.
Dogs must be leashed (maximum 2 m). Each campsite is limited to a maximum of 6 persons; alcohol and cannabis are permitted on your campsite only.
Campfires must sit at least 3 m from forest or flammable materials, and fireworks of any sort are prohibited. Dils Lake is non-motorized only; the gatehouse rents canoes and kayaks.
The barrier-free mat at the swimming beach extends sandy-beach access to visitors who use mobility aids, and the 1.1-kilometre Dils Lake boardwalk is the easiest accessible loop in the township.
