Snow Adventure.

The Sudbury Trail Plan Association manages roughly 600 km of OFSC-prescribed snowmobile trails across the Sudbury district — one of Northern Ontario's best-developed sled networks, anchored on the city. Lake Laurentian Conservation Area and Kivi Park carry snowshoe routes on the same trails used for hiking and skiing.

Snow Adventure in Sudbury
01 — What to know

The brief.

Sudbury Trail Plan is a member club of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs; an OFSC trail permit is required. The 600 km network connects Sudbury to surrounding districts and to the broader OFSC trunk system through northeastern Ontario.

Snowshoeing at Lake Laurentian and Kivi Park uses the same Shield surface as summer hiking — dressed differently — and runs alongside the cross-country network. Outdoor skating runs at Bell Park's downtown rinks and at municipal community rinks.

Best season is mid-December through mid-March; weather on the open trails can swing sharply.
