Cross-Country & Nordic.

The Walden Cross-Country Fitness Club at Kivi Park runs track-set classic and skate trails on a national-club-grade network — long the home of Sudbury's nordic racing tradition and the destination network for trained skiers in northeastern Ontario. Lake Laurentian Conservation Area carries additional groomed trails on the south side of the city.

01 — What to know

The brief.

Walden CCFC's trails at Kivi Park are paid-trail-pass nordic — the network is built for classic tracks and skate lanes side by side, with grooming reports through the season. Lake Laurentian's trails are CRCA-style groomed multi-use — wider, easier, family-friendly.

The mid-December through mid-March snow window in Sudbury is reliable in most years; cold spells are common, so dress for the Canadian Shield interior. The Walden tradition produced national-team skiers and biathletes; the network's racing pedigree shows in the trail design.
