Walking & Strolling.
The Cooper Marsh boardwalk system threads 9 km of level walking through the largest coastal wetland on Lake St. Francis, with viewing towers, blinds, and self-guided interpretive signs running out of the visitors centre.
From the village green at Williamstown, a short walk passes Sir John Johnson House National Historic Site and the Glengarry, Nor'Westers and Loyalist Museum on the Raisin River — a tight Loyalist heritage cluster on a small village footprint.
The brief.
The Cooper Marsh boardwalks are the easiest level walking in the township and stay accessible year-round, although the visitors centre and the lending library run May to September only. Williamstown's village heritage walk is a short, flat loop around the Raisin River; both heritage sites are walkable from the village core in a single visit.
At the western edge of the township, the Glen Walter Waterfront Bike Parkette and Glen Walter Regional Park offer a short St. Lawrence-view walk on the County Road 2 corridor.
None of these walks involve significant elevation or technical surface.
