Cycling.
The Township of South Glengarry's 45 km of paved waterfront cycling runs County Road 2 from the Cornwall edge through Glen Walter, Summerstown, and Lancaster, with a designated paved shoulder for the Cornwall-to-Lancaster stretch. East of Lancaster, the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail follows the South Service Road for about 10 km before rejoining County Road 2 to the Quebec border — the easternmost Ontario segment of the Waterfront Trail before the route crosses into Quebec.
The brief.
The County Road 2 / Waterfront Trail corridor is flat, paved, and wind-exposed in places along the Lake St. Francis shoreline.
The Glen Walter Waterfront Bike Parkette at Glen Walter Park Road is a Township waterfront stop with a bike-repair station, parking, picnic tables, and St. Lawrence views; vehicle parking is at the nearby Glen Walter Regional Park about 500 m away.
The eastern segment between Lancaster and the Quebec border uses on-road and South Service Road routing — passable but not a separated path. May through October is the easiest cycling window.
The corridor connects west to South Stormont's Waterfront Trail segment toward Cornwall and east into Quebec.
