Snow Adventure.

The Round Algonquin Park (RAP) Tour — an OFSC TOP-trail snowmobile circuit of roughly 700 km looping the exterior of Algonquin Provincial Park — passes through Whitney and Madawaska village on its eastern leg. The Whitney–Madawaska Snowmobile Club is the local OFSC affiliate, maintains trail conditions through the township, and is the practical source of route status for visiting riders.

01 — What to know

The brief.

The RAP Tour stitches together OFSC TOP A and TOP B trail segments across multiple districts; an OFSC seasonal permit is required for all riders on TOP trails. Trail status is published through the OFSC ITG (Interactive Trail Guide) and through local club pages; conditions can change quickly with thaw, freeze, and overhang loads.

Snowshoeing the Park's east-side trail network and frozen-lake routes from Galeairy Lake and the Highway 60 Corridor lakes adds quieter shield-interior travel; daily Park vehicle permits apply inside the Park boundary. Reliable cover typically holds mid-December through early March; the OFSC season opens and closes by district based on conditions, not a fixed calendar.
