Freshwater Fishing.
The Bay of Quinte (FMZ 20) is one of the best trophy walleye destinations in North America, with a fall fishery averaging ~8 lb fish and 10–12 lb fish frequent. Smallmouth and largemouth bass, muskie, northern pike, yellow perch, crappie, and channel catfish round out the bay.
East Lake and West Lake inside Sandbanks add walleye, bass, pike, and panfish on sheltered inland water; Lake Ontario near-shore holds chinook salmon, rainbow trout, and lake trout offshore.
The brief.
PEC waters fall under FMZ 20 — walleye, bass, and muskie all carry zone-specific seasons and limits that must be consulted before fishing. The fall trophy walleye window runs October through December and continues through the ice; smallmouth bass season runs June through October.
The Bay of Quinte fishery centres on the bay and Adolphus Reach; East Lake and West Lake fish lighter and shallower, with sheltered access from Sandbanks. Lake Ontario near-shore offshore fishing for chinook, rainbow, and lake trout is a separate seasonal product.
Picton Harbour, Glenora Marina, and the H.J. McFarland Conservation Area boat launch are the three Bay of Quinte access points; ice fishing on Quinte is locally notable in winter.
