Walking & Strolling.
The Rotary Greenway Trail carries 22 km of paved multi-use path along the Otonabee River from Lock 19 at Trent University past the Peterborough Lift Lock through downtown Little Lake and on north to Lakefield. Del Crary Park sits at the southern anchor on Little Lake, and Jackson Park threads urban-ravine forest along Jackson Creek under the Pagoda Bridge.
The brief.
Most central Peterborough walking is flat, paved, and concentrated on the Otonabee corridor and Little Lake. The Rotary Greenway Trail is the spine, accessible from multiple parks (Beavermead, Del Crary, Lock 19) and walkable year-round on the surfaced sections.
The Lift Lock visitor centre and lock-grounds esplanade are walkable year-round and offer the closest viewing of the canal corridor. Jackson Park and the Pagoda Bridge add a shorter ravine option on Jackson Creek.
Downtown Peterborough's heritage core is walkable from Confederation Square and George Street.
