Walking & Strolling.
The Lightfoot Trail runs the Lake Couchiching waterfront from Couchiching Beach Park to Centennial Park, threading the Champlain Monument, the Aqua Theatre band shell, and the Port of Orillia marina along a single paved ribbon. South along Lake Simcoe, Tudhope Park opens onto the bigger lake and hosts the Mariposa Folk Festival in July; downtown Mississaga Street links the heritage commercial blocks to the lakefront via the Orillia Museum of Art and History.
The brief.
The Lightfoot Trail is a paved waterfront walking and cycling path along Lake Couchiching that's open year-round; the central downtown segment between Couchiching Beach Park and Centennial Park is comfortable May through October and stays walkable in winter on cleared sections. Couchiching Beach Park is 28 acres of public lakeshore with the Champlain Monument, the Aqua Theatre, and a swim beach; alcohol restrictions and seasonal lifeguard staffing apply.
Tudhope Park is the main Lake Simcoe access from the city — flat shoreline, festival grounds, and a separate paddle/swim launch. The Millennium Trail extends the waterfront network inland through Orillia neighbourhoods.
