Camping.
Stormhaven and High Dump are the two backcountry camp areas inside Bruce Peninsula National Park, both reservable, both on platform sites along the Bruce Trail above Georgian Bay. Each has 9 sites, a 4-person-per-site cap, and no open fires.
Trailheads at Cyprus Lake (Lot 2), Halfway Log Dump / Emmett Lake Road, and Crane Lake Road feed the corridor; Stormhaven also runs a winter pilot from December 1 through March 31.
The brief.
The summer backcountry season runs May 1 through October 31 and reservations are required — these are platform sites, not open camping. Each site is small (4-person cap), there are composting privies and bear lockers, and open fires are prohibited park-wide in the backcountry.
Hike-in distances vary by trailhead: Cyprus Lake Lot 2 is the shortest approach to Stormhaven; Halfway Log Dump / Emmett Lake Road is closest to High Dump. The Stormhaven winter pilot (Dec 1 – Mar 31) is one of the few coastal backcountry experiences open in Ontario in winter; expect deep snow and exposed cliff edges.
Cyprus Lake Campground is the standard reservable car-camping option inside the park frontcountry.
