Snow Adventure.
The OFSC-prescribed snowmobile trail network through eastern Ontario crosses North Stormont and threads the four anchor villages — Avonmore, Crysler, Finch, and Berwick — onto the regional A and B corridors that run across the SDG counties. Off the snowmobile network, the South Nation Conservation properties at Robert Graham Conservation Area near Berwick and at Warwick Forest along the South Dundas boundary see informal snowshoe use on signed walking trails when conditions allow.
The brief.
The OFSC trails are the lead winter product through North Stormont — connected, prescribed, and permit-managed. A valid OFSC Snowmobile Trail Permit is required, and conditions are posted seasonally by the local snowmobile club through the OFSC interactive trail guide.
The corridor through the township links Avonmore, Crysler, Finch, and Berwick directly to the wider SDG network, so trips can run village-to-village without leaving the prescribed system. Best season is roughly January through early March, conditions permitting; the OFSC publishes daily trail status.
Off the snowmobile network, snowshoe use on South Nation Conservation properties is informal — the same passive-recreation rules that govern summer use apply (no motorized vehicles off prescribed trails, leash dogs, no overnight camping unless designated). There is no destination-grade groomed Nordic centre in scope; classic-style cross-country use on SNC properties is informal seasonal.
