North Stormont.
North Stormont is the inland farming township between Cornwall and Ottawa within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, gathering the villages of Avonmore, Crysler, Finch, and Berwick across flat South Nation River farmland and mixed woodlots. South Nation Conservation, the watershed authority for the South Nation River, is headquartered in Finch and manages a network of conservation properties that includes Robert Graham Conservation Area near Berwick and Warwick Forest along the boundary with adjacent South Dundas.
In winter the OFSC-prescribed snowmobile network threads the same village corridor — Avonmore to Crysler to Finch to Berwick — and connects North Stormont to the regional A and B trails across the SDG counties. The destination heritage product on the upper St.
Lawrence Seaway shoreline (Upper Canada Village, Crysler's Farm National Historic Site, the Lost Villages story) sits in adjacent South Dundas and South Stormont, not in North Stormont itself. North Stormont sits on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe Nations.
