Sailing & Boating.
Port Dover Harbour Marina anchors the Lake Erie boating scene — transient and seasonal slips, fuel, and the home harbour of the Port Dover Yacht Club. Port Rowan Harbour and Turkey Point Marina open onto the sheltered Long Point Inner Bay, which protects sailing waters from open-lake weather behind the peninsula.
The brief.
Port Dover is the deeper-water Lake Erie sailing anchor — the marina handles transient slips and seasonal storage, and the Yacht Club organizes the local sailing calendar. Lake Erie is open and exposed on the Outer Bay and beyond the sandspit; storms can move quickly and small-craft routings should track the marine forecast.
The Long Point Inner Bay, behind the peninsula, gives sheltered sailing and motor-boating water that's also the warmwater fishery — boat traffic mixes sailors and anglers. Turkey Point Marina is the western Inner Bay launch; Port Rowan is at the western base of the peninsula.
Sailing season runs May through October.
