Swimming & Beach.
Hanna Park in Port Carling, at 40 Bailey St, opens onto Lake Muskoka with a playground, a basketball/volleyball court, and a covered pavilion — the working family swim destination at the navigational hub of the township. Five further named township beaches across Walker's Point, Milford Bay, Windermere, Port Sandfield, and (on the interior shield) Skeleton Lake spread the swim across six village hubs and six lakes.
The brief.
Township beaches are walk-up and free, maintained by the Township of Muskoka Lakes. The Big Three lakes are working motor-boat waters — beach swim happens in sheltered bays along the named township shoreline rather than open lake.
Late June through early September is the practical swim window; shield-water lakes warm slowly in spring and hold cool deep into July. Lifeguards are not posted at township beaches; check the Township page for any seasonal advisories.
Skeleton Lake (Ullswater) and Hardy Lake are the quieter interior alternatives — Skeleton via the township beach park, Hardy via carry-in only inside the provincial park.
