Cycling.
The Lincoln segment of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail along Lake Ontario is the northwestern leg of the Greater Niagara Circle Route — Niagara's flagship 140 km cycle-touring loop, 90% off-road paved trail, linking the Niagara River Recreational Trail, the Welland Canals Parkway, the Friendship Trail, and the Waterfront Trail. The Twenty Valley Trail connects the Waterfront Trail at Jordan to the Bruce Trail at Ball's Falls, anchoring the wine-country segment between the lake and the bench.
The brief.
The Lincoln Waterfront Trail segment is mostly off-road paved with paved-shoulder on-road links — typical of the Greater Niagara Circle Route's 140 km loop, which has roughly 90% off-road paved trail and 10% on-road shoulder. The Twenty Valley Trail body is pedestrian-only, but its corridor through the Beamsville-Vineland-Jordan villages connects road-cycling segments along the bench-area concession roads.
Best season is May through October; the Greater Toronto market puts heavy weekend pressure on the loop in July and August. From downtown Toronto, the Lincoln access is roughly an hour on the QEW.
