Cross-Country & Nordic.
Limberlost's 70+ kilometres of multi-use trail run free in winter for cross-country skiing on the same online safety-waiver public-access model as summer. Reliable Canadian Shield snow holds the season together mid-December through early March, and the network's scale across 10,000+ acres and 20 lakes makes it the largest cross-country surface area in the Muskoka cluster.
The brief.
The network is multi-use rather than purpose-groomed Nordic terrain — trails are tracked by use rather than mechanically groomed, so expect classic conditions on the in-trail base and skate skiing where the surface allows. Daily 9 a.m.–5 p.m., trails free, dogs leashed; the online safety waiver applies year-round.
Bring your own gear — Limberlost does not run a winter rental shop on the Arrowhead model, and Arrowhead Provincial Park's groomed XC product (with on-park ski rentals) sits across the boundary in the Town of Huntsville for paddlers used to that setup.
