Cycling.
The Cypher Systems Group Greenway / Chrysler Canada Greenway runs the former CN/CASO rail corridor through Kingsville on Essex County's regional rail-trail network. The trail is flat and surfaced, with linkages east toward Leamington and west toward Oldcastle; from the Greenway, County Road 20 and Heritage Road carry the lakeshore road network past Mettawas Park, Cedar Beach, and the Pelee Island Winery pavilion.
The brief.
Kingsville cycling splits cleanly between the Cypher Systems Group Greenway (rail-trail, flat, surfaced, multi-use) and County Road 20 / Heritage Road (lakeshore road riding, mostly flat). The Greenway is owned and managed by Essex County as part of its regional rail-trail inventory, which makes it the easiest entry point for distance riding through Kingsville.
Best season is May through October; early spring and late fall are workable in the mild Carolinian climate but the lakeshore wind can be a factor. The flat lake-plain terrain across Essex County is what makes the Kingsville segment easy distance riding by southwestern Ontario standards.
