Walking & Strolling.
The Kincardine Boardwalk runs south of the harbour past planted gardens, marine heritage interpretation, and sand dunes — wheelchair-accessible the whole length, anchored at the 1881 lighthouse at the river mouth. North and south of the harbour, the Pink Trail's 4 km of waterfront and the Red Trail's Penetangore River loop carry walkers through Geddes Environmental Park's Labyrinth and Peace Gardens and past the lakeside parks the town's 22 km of municipal trails connect.
The brief.
Most central walking in Kincardine is concentrated on the Lake Huron waterfront and the Penetangore River downtown. The Kincardine Boardwalk is wheelchair-accessible; the Pink Trail covers 4 km from the south municipal boundary on Goderich Street to the Lower NLE Trail to the north, with Station Beach as a parking access.
The Red Trail runs along the river under the Queen Street Bridge through Geddes Environmental Park to the South Penetangore. May through October is the easiest window; the boardwalk and Pink Trail surface stays walkable into shoulder season.
The municipal trail network adds up to over 22 km in total inside the town, threading Victoria Park, Rock Garden, MacPherson Park, and the Geddes Environmental Park Labyrinth & Peace Gardens.
