Cycling.
The Victoria Rail Trail runs 56 km along the former Victoria Railway corridor from Lindsay north through Fenelon Falls to Kinmount in the Land Between transition zone. It is the longest single rail-trail inside the municipality and a Trans Canada Trail link, with a multi-use surface shared with snowmobiles in winter.
From Lindsay's town centre, the Trans Canada Trail also routes through the municipal core.
The brief.
The Victoria Rail Trail is a flat former-railway alignment, almost entirely off-road and shared with hikers, snowmobilers, and ATVs in season. Best season is May through October; winter shifts to snowmobile dominance on the same corridor.
The Trans Canada Trail through Lindsay connects the city core into the regional rail-trail network. There is no extensive on-road cycling product documented inside the municipality; the strength is the off-road rail-trail corridor.
