Hiking.

Eugenia Falls drops about 30 metres into a narrow Beaver River gorge, and the rim of that gorge is followed by the main Bruce Trail through the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority's Eugenia Falls Conservation Area. Step a few side trails off the main blazes inside Grey Highlands and you reach Hoggs Falls on the Boyne River, the Old Baldy cliff outlook above Kimberley, and the crevice features of Metcalfe Rock at the southern end of the Beaver Valley club section.

Hiking in Grey Highlands
01 — What to know

The brief.

The Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail runs roughly 106 km between Lavender and Blantyre. Inside Grey Highlands the trail concentrates the highest density of named waterfalls and outlooks on the Beaver Valley arm.

Most trailheads are signed off township roads or off Grey County Road 13; some side-trail access points run through private land where the Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club holds easements. Stay on the marked white blazes; the Bruce Trail crosses public and private land.

Conservation-area parking lots at Eugenia Falls and Hoggs Falls open seasonally and may charge a day-use fee. Spring-thaw closures and post-blowdown reroutes are posted to the Beaver Valley club page before the season opens; dogs must be leashed; cliff-edge rope and fence lines around Eugenia Falls and Old Baldy are not for climbing.
