Cycling.
Lennox & Addington County's twelve-loop, roughly 600 km road-cycling network has six loops touching Greater Napanee — the Napanee River Route, Shoreline Route, and Hay Bay Route are the headline loops — and the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail runs through the township along County Road 8 down to the Loyalist Parkway. The riding is flat county-road pavement on shouldered surfaces.
The brief.
Greater Napanee cycling is paved-shoulder county-road riding through a flat lake-plain landscape, not dedicated singletrack or rail-trail. The L&A County loops are signed and mapped through Naturally Lennox & Addington's cycling pages; the Hay Bay loop along County Road 9 and South Shore Road is the most scenic, working a bay-of-the-bay shoreline.
The Loyalist Parkway (Highway 33) carries the heritage corridor east toward Bath and Kingston with paved highway shoulder and quieter parallel municipal lanes through the village cores. May through October is the comfortable window; April and November are workable on calm days.
The cycling network shares roads with cars and farm equipment — standard shared-road riding applies.
