Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding.

Sir Sam's Ski/Ride at 1054 Liswood Road operates 12 groomed alpine runs above Eagle Lake, the alpine anchor of Haliburton County since the resort's founding in 1965. The hill is family-scale rather than resort-scale: short lines, hilltop views over Eagle Lake, and a chalet-centred operation that runs year-round through summer mountain biking and fall-colour chairlift rides.

01 — What to know

The brief.

Sir Sam's is a regional ski hill — 12 groomed runs across mostly green, blue, and a few black descents; expect a smaller footprint than the major Ontario destinations south of the GTA but a quieter weekend experience and easier same-day-from-Toronto driving than Collingwood-area resorts. The chalet is the social centre, with rentals, lessons, and food on site.

The Eagle View Observation Tower at the hilltop adds a viewpoint over Eagle Lake. Conditions depend on natural snow plus snowmaking; check the resort's snow report before driving.

Mid-December through mid-March is the typical ski season, snow conditions permitting.
