01 — What to know

The brief.

LaSalle Park Marina (50 North Shore Blvd, Aldershot) provides slips, launch, and clubhouse access on Burlington Bay. The Burlington Sailing & Boating Club (BSBC) is the long-running Burlington Bay sailing club.

Larger boats access Lake Ontario through the Burlington Canal under the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge — the bridge lifts on a published schedule for marine traffic. Burlington Bay is shared sailing water with Hamilton's Royal Hamilton Yacht Club on the south shore.

Open Lake Ontario beyond the canal is full open water with significant fetch; commercial port traffic adds shipping-lane considerations.
