Sailing & Boating.
The Brockville waterfront anchors a busy summer calendar — the 1000 Islands Regatta runs each summer with food trucks, vendors, and live entertainment, and the Tall Ships Festival visits Brockville on a triennial cadence (most recently June 20–22, 2025) with a Parade of Sail past the city's waterfront and dockside vessel tours.
The brief.
The Brockville municipal harbour and the Henry Street boat launch are the main downtown launch points. Open St.
Lawrence cruising water lies immediately offshore, with the Thousand Islands archipelago upstream toward Gananoque and Kingston and the Brockville Narrows islands just offshore. The St.
Lawrence is a working commercial seaway — sailors share the channel with freighter and ferry traffic and should monitor wind and shipping conditions. Best season is May through October; the Tall Ships Festival is the triennial calendar anchor and the 1000 Islands Regatta is the annual one.
Kingston, upstream, holds the Olympic-legacy Signature sailing claim on this stretch (1976 sailing events at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour).
