Walking & Strolling.
The 7 km Brock Trail is paved, flat, and threads downtown Brockville's waterfront — through Canada's first railway tunnel, around Blockhouse Island, past the Aquatarium, and into Hardy Park. The downtown core itself is a limestone-block heritage walk between the river, the Court House Square, and the tunnel's south portal.
The brief.
Most of central Brockville's walking is flat, paved or boardwalked, and concentrated on the downtown waterfront ribbon. The Brock Trail is the main spine; the downtown limestone-block heritage core runs immediately above it.
Blockhouse Island is a short walkable detour out into the harbour mouth. The Railway Tunnel itself is walkable end-to-end during its seasonal opening (typically May through October), free of charge.
Hardy Park, Rotary Park, and St. Lawrence Park are on the waterfront ribbon to the west and north.
The Brock Trail is open year-round, including in winter — most of it is plowed.
