Diving & Snorkeling.
The Centeen Memorial Dive Park sits in the St. Lawrence directly offshore from downtown Brockville — the first underwater sculpture park in Canada, founded in 2015 with the City of Brockville and Thousand Islands Secondary School students.
The site holds 24-plus concrete sculptures at depths under 9 m (30 ft), shore-accessible from Centeen Park and stewarded by the Thousand Islands chapter of Save Ontario Shipwrecks.
The brief.
Centeen Park is the easiest entry — shore dive, shallow, and life-size sculptures intended for novice divers. Beyond Centeen, the Brockville-area shipwreck cluster includes the schooner Lillie Parsons (sunk 1877 with a coal cargo), the barge Robert Gaskin (sunk 1861), and the schooner Maggie L (cut in half by a freighter in 1927); twelve-plus wrecks and drift dive sites between Rockport and Brockville at depths from 7.6 to 42 m.
Save Ontario Shipwrecks operates a $10 dive-token system that supports the Centeen Park infrastructure. Wrecks are protected under the Ontario Heritage Act — visit but do not disturb.
Best visibility runs June through September; year-round dives possible. Most non-shore wrecks require a charter from Brockville harbour.
