Sailing & Boating.
Westport Municipal Harbour sits at the western shore of Upper Rideau Lake — the Rideau Canal's summit pool at 124.65 m elevation — opening onto 61 km² of open lake water and through-canal navigation north toward Ottawa or south toward Kingston. The harbour runs May through October with shore power, water, washrooms, showers, and laundry on the mainland within walking distance, plus offshore Goat Island for harbour visitors during the boating season.
The brief.
The harbour is staffed daily May through October. Daily night docking is $2 per foot plus hydro options ($6–$10), and daily day docking is $6–$12 depending on boat size; seasonal slips are $88 per foot with hydro packages $175–$300.
Off-season inquiries (November through April) go to the Recreation Manager. Two Parks Canada lockstations bracket the corridor — Narrows Lock east of Westport drops downstream to Big Rideau Lake, and Newboro Lock south of Westport opens onto Newboro Lake — both run during the canal's roughly mid-May through mid-October navigation season.
Goat Island, accessible only by water from the harbour, has picnic tables, swim areas, camping, and WiFi for harbour visitors.
