Camping.
Murphys Point Provincial Park runs approximately 170 reservable campsites on the south shore of Big Rideau Lake, including front-country sites, group camping, and water-access sites reachable from the lake. Parks Canada also operates oTENTik glamping and tent camping at Jones Falls and Chaffeys Lock during the canal's navigation season — a different camping category than provincial-park front-country, woven into the historic lockstation grounds.
The brief.
Murphys Point Provincial Park operates mid-May through mid-October with full vehicle access, amenities, and staffed visitor services; reservations are required and run through the Ontario Parks reservation system. Water-access sites on Big Rideau Lake are reachable by canoe, kayak, or motorboat from the park's launch and from other lake access points.
Parks Canada lockstation camping at Jones Falls and Chaffeys Lock includes oTENTik units (canvas-walled cabins on wooden platforms, equipped with beds, table, and lighting) and traditional tent sites; reservations run through the Parks Canada reservation system. The lockstation camping season tracks the canal navigation season (roughly mid-May through mid-October).
