Cycling.
The K&P Trail runs through Perth as the regional rail-trail spine, and the Rideau Heritage Route — Ontario's signed scenic-drive corridor — passes through Town along quiet rural Lanark backroads, equally suited to road and e-bike touring with the Tay Canal corridor as the central point of reference.
The brief.
The K&P Trail Perth segment combines stone-dust and natural surfaces and connects north-south through Lanark County. Rural Lanark backroads carry the road-cycling story — relatively low traffic, rolling terrain, and the Maple Tour producer cluster as a spring-season ride anchor.
The in-Town Tay Trail handles the family-friendly riding inside the Heritage Conservation District. Best season is May through October; the Tay Trail and the K&P stay rideable in shoulder season weather permitting.
Cyclists touring the Rideau Canal corridor will find Perth a logical Tay-Branch detour off the main canal route.
