Sailing & Boating.

Oakville Harbour at the mouth of Sixteen Mile Creek and Bronte Harbour at the mouth of Bronte Creek are twin Town-operated harbours with marinas — sheltered launches into Lake Ontario five kilometres apart. The Oakville Yacht Squadron operates from Navy Street at Oakville Harbour beside Erchless Estate; Bronte Outer Harbour Marina sits at Bronte's harbour basin.

01 — What to know

The brief.

Both harbours are Town-of-Oakville–operated, with seasonal slip and transient docking. Oakville Harbour is at the foot of Navy Street, between the OYS and Erchless Estate, with Tannery Park on the east bank of Sixteen Mile Creek.

Bronte Harbour sits at the mouth of Bronte Creek, with Bronte Beach Park and Bronte Bluffs Park flanking the harbour basin. Open-lake sailing reaches the broad Lake Ontario fetch toward Toronto in the east and Hamilton Harbour in the west.

The sailing season runs roughly May through October; spring and fall winds are stronger but lake water temperatures stay cold into June.
