Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding.

Hockley Valley Resort runs a Niagara Escarpment ski hill in Mono with 15 ski and snowboard runs served by four lifts on a modest escarpment vertical — small by Canada-wide standards but inside an hour of the GTA on the major highway corridor north of Caledon. The same property runs an 18-hole championship golf course in summer and a full-service spa year-round, making it a four-season resort anchor for the township.

01 — What to know

The brief.

The alpine season opens mid-December and runs through March, with timing dependent on snow conditions. The hill is not a destination resort by Western Canada standards — vertical is modest, runs are short — but the proximity to the GTA puts it on the short list of "ski after work" Ontario hills, particularly for beginner and intermediate snowboarders and skiers.

Lift tickets, lessons, and rentals are sold on the resort site directly. The resort's golf course and spa stay open outside the alpine season.
