Hiking.
The Eagle's Nest / Manitou Mountain / Skywalk lookout network strings together rim viewpoints on a 120 m quartzite cliff above Calabogie Lake. The Eagle's Nest approach climbs roughly 1.5 km on an old logging road to the principal lookout, with the Manitou Mountain and Skywalk extensions adding additional cliff-edge views over the lake and the Madawaska valley.
The brief.
Township of Greater Madawaska maintains the trail network and the trailhead is free to park. The route is rocky and technical near the cliff edge — sturdy footwear, no rail at most lookouts.
Trails are not maintained year-round; expect ice in shoulder seasons. At the western end of the township, Lower Madawaska River Provincial Park carries the Griffith Uplands Trail (~6 km) through the riverbank uplands — quieter forest hiking with no facilities.
